This program is for young black girls and boys interestedin pursuing a career in the health and medical field as they go off to college.  Getting awarded with this scholarship meant everything to me because Dr. Carter saw something in me and he believed that I would be a great candidate, not only for this scholarship but also for his organization and I will forever be grateful for this opportunity.  I am attending Tennessee State University to become a Nurse Anesthetist.  This scholarship has motivated me to continue to stay focused during school, chase my childhood dreams, and help inspire the younger generation to strive for greatness.

The Dr. Thomas Blocker scholarship is very important to me because it gives me a base foundation for things I need for college.  I am thankful and glad to be able to be connected to great doctors because if not for their gracious consideration, I would not have received this scholarship.  This scholarship has also inspired me for when it’s time for me to attend medical school I would want to attend Morehouse, not just for the education, but also the experience.  Dr. Blocker knew what he was doing by inspiring the next generation and I’m thankful that generation is inspiring me.
